Paddling To Victory

Part of a canoe and kayaking team, Jennifer Meisner received funding from Admiral Community Chest to kit out the crew in matching jackets. In this article she tells about a national championship the team took part in.

I started paddling with the Mic Mac Masters Paddling Program in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia in July 2009. The season runs from April until October which is basically whenever there isn’t ice on the lake!  As part of the program, we race war canoes and kayaks with anything from one individual up to fifteen people per boat. Rap Contest Winner – The Admiral Times

Today is our launch day for Admiral’s new website and Frankie Hollywood with 101.3 the Bounce is live on location at the Bayers Road Centre.

As we like to have a lot of fun in the office, we asked our staff to write us a rap with the winner getting the chance to rap live on the radio.

The winning entry came from one of our biggest fans, Renewals Agent, Pretty T.

Erin and Wade’s Big Adventure

A competition was held in Halifax in November to send two staff to Wales for the full Admiral experience. It was a tough competition as twelve of our staff wrote essays and gave presentations on why they should be chosen to represent the Halifax office.

In the end Erin Farrell and Wade Arnold hopped aboard Air Canada and flew off for a week to visit the offices in both Cardiff and Swansea and attend the Top Ten party. ‘The Canadians’, as they were affectionately referred to, returned from their adventure across the pond with lots of stories and lasting impressions to share.  Here’s what they had to say about their visit:
